Don Byas, one of the best sax tenormen of his day, was a key figure in the transition from the Swing era to the Bop revolution. The sound of Don Byas is really fascinating and combines the unique vibrato and raspy tone of Coleman Hawkins, to the fresh diction and leaner solo style of Charlie Parker. He left US for his brilliant Europe career in 1947 and never came back. Before leaving he has recorded many albums with small jazz groups. In this box set you will find all these original recordings, remastered. Included enjoy a nice booklet with lots of relevant information. A small jazz masterpiece.
