Bud Powell & Don Byas - A tribute to Cannonball (1997)

A rare jazz masterpiece that honors the great alto saxophonist Julian "Cannoball" Addelrey who was the producer of this collection. Two jazz legends, pianist Bud Powell and tenor saxophonist Don Byas, backed by trumpeter Idrees Sulieman, french bassist Pierre Michelot and drummer Kenny Clarke, offer almost one hour of incomparable jazz. Track 10 is a previously unreleased version of "Cherokee" with Cannonball himself at the alto saxophone.
